Balay Sofia remains deeply committed to making Steiner education both excellent and accessible. As we look ahead to the 2025–2026 academic year, our fees have been set with care to support this mission and to ensure that our programs continue to thrive for the long term. Balay Sofia does not require uniforms or standardized textbooks, allowing families greater flexibility and helping keep education simple and focused on what truly matters.
The school fees cover the core components of the standard curriculum. Eurythmy, along with field trips, camping excursions, conferences, and other special activities, is not included in the standard fees and will be billed separately as needed. Parents will be notified in advance about any optional or required activities that involve additional costs. All possible additional expenses will be discussed during the first class orientation.
Note on Financial Stability
Balay Sofia remains committed to making Steiner-Waldorf education accessible to as many families as possible. The published school fees are currently set below the actual cost of education, and the school operates at a financial shortfall to uphold this commitment.
To help bridge the gap, we welcome contributions above the standard fee — all of which go directly to supporting our faculty, programs, and long-term needs.
Part of this vision includes eventually relocating to a more accessible, nature-rich site. While we're not yet in a position to do so, every family's support brings us closer.
To further support our financial needs, we’ll also hold community-led fundraising efforts — shared acts of care that sustain our children’s education and our shared future.
